This connectivity gap led to dropped calls, interrupted data sessions, and mounting frustration among employees and visitors. To resolve communication coverage issues, Pallas Capital sought out a robust solution to eliminate these dead zones.

In Australia, there is a need to achieve seamless mobile communication for modern enterprise and corporate environments. Modern building structural elements of an elevator will impede mobile signals, creating dead zones that disrupt reliable connectivity. For Pallas Capital, these interruptions were more than mere inconveniences; they hindered operational fluidity and detracted from the overall experience of building occupants, clients, and visitors.

To tackle this challenge, Pallas Capital engaged Rising Connection, in collaboration with Proeye Communications and Security Systems, to implement an innovative solution using the Nextivity QUATRA 4000e system. This advanced, multi-carrier active Distributed Antenna System (DAS) hybrid solution enhances indoor cellular coverage, ensuring consistent voice and data quality even in traditionally hard-to-reach areas like elevator carriages.

The Nextivity QUATRA 4000e system offers several key advantages:

  • Multi-Carrier Support: The Nextivity IntelliBoost Technology simultaneously improves mobile signals for multiple carriers, supporting diverse connectivity improvement experiences.
  • High Gain Performance: It can reprocess the operator’s mobile signals, equating to a potential amplification of signal strength up to 1000 times, eliminating dead zones.
  • Scalable and Flexible Design: Utilizes category cabling with Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing efficient installation without significant infrastructure changes.
  • Remote Management: The Nextivity WAVE portal monitors and allows remote system management, enabling proactive maintenance and performance optimisation.

Implementation: Seamless Integration for Continuous Coverage

The deployment involved integrating signals from the three Australian mobile networks, each with dedicated antenna alignments feeding into the Nextivity QUATRA 4000e solution. This setup was shared with nine Nextivity CEL-FI G41 units, ensuring robust and uniform signal distribution for the other required building areas. The project included custom category cabling installed utilising the elevator’s infrastructure, maintaining consistent reception throughout the elevator’s daily operations.

The project evaluation and design included factors such as fire safety, moisture resistance, and cable flexibility, with special attention to ensuring the system’s durability and compliance with building standards. By working with the site operator and relevant parties, the work done in the development, planning, and design stages allowed the installation to be delivered as efficiently as possible, including efforts to minimise disruption to daily operations.

Post-installation, the Pallas Capital site experienced a measurable and significant transformation in its evolving building’s communication landscape. The reliable connectivity has improved day-to-day interactions and bolstered safety measures, ensuring that individuals can maintain mobile communications during their entire journey within the building complex.
